Supporting those affected by Scleroderma

Obtain a good team of medical professionals that will provide the most effective and collaborative care, including a:
  • Rheumatologist
  • Dermatologist
  • Gastroenterologist
  • Hand Therapist
  • Physical Therapist
If your hands and wrists are tightening, start therapy right away; it will help keep skin looser and hopefully slow the progression of deformity of the fingers.
90% of scleroderma patients will be affected Raynauds, so protect your hands and feet, especially in the winter.  Wear gloves outside and in the grocery store; be cautious even going inside the freezer, as it can trigger the Raynauds.

If you smoke, stop and seek professional help, if you need it.
Keep your skin moistened and  Drink lots of water
Fatigue is Real so, Rest, rest and  REST
Avoid stress, yeah right!...no Really
Forget the stigma, seek professional counseling for emotional challenges; its okay to ask for help
